Adventure in the Kruger National Park

Recently I’ve been craving a trip to the bush.

During my Christmas leave John and myself decided to plan a spontaneous trip to the Kruger National Park.

We were lucky enough to spot an elephant crossing the road.

The Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It has a high density of wild animals including the Big 5: Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as Vultures, Eagles and Storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape.

Going to the Kruger National Park truly is an incredible experience. It is a unique and relaxing holiday.

Baboon we saw sitting in the road.

We were lucky enough to spot some amazing animals on our trip. Our sightings included elephant, giraffe, rhino, wild dog, zebra, warthog, lion, buffalo, crocodile and hippos.

So how do you spot one of the Big Five in the Kruger National Park? It requires good timing, patience and of course a keen eye. Immersing yourself in the beauty of the area beneath the warmth of the African sun I managed to come out of the park feeling relaxed and ready for the new year ahead.
